HADLEY, Mass. - The No. 15-ranked Williams College men's soccer team was well represented with yearly NESCAC awards Wednesday, as first-year
JJ Ruehlemann was named Rookie of the Year and senior captain
Henry Kirkman and sophomore
Chase Caires garnered All-Conference Second Team laurels.
Ruehlemann  leads the Ephs (8-4-4, 5-3-2 NESCAC) in goals (8), points (16) and game-winning tallies (3), while also being named NESCAC Player of the Week on Sept. 8. The Waldwick, New Jersey, native recorded a hat trick, including the game-winning tally, during a 5-1 victory against Keene State on Oct. 18 at Cole Field.
Kirkman registered three goals, three assists and nine points. The Providence, Rhode Island, native scored twice, including the game-winning goal, during a 6-0 win over Husson on Oct. 5 in Bangor, Maine. Caires was phenomenal on the defensive side of the field for a team that held 12 opponents to one or fewer goals.
The Ephs compete against La Roche in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament Saturday at 1 p.m. in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
