WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - In the team's second match against highly ranked opponents in as many days, the Williams College women's squash team fell 9-0 to Cornell University at the Simon Squash Center on Sunday afternoon.
The #7 ranked Big Red jumped out to an early lead and kept the advantage throughout, though the Ephs fought hard up and down the lineup.
The closest match was Alicia Chen at #4, who dropped the first two games 5-11 and 8-11 before winning the third by a score of 11-7. The Ephs first-year was the only player to take a game off Cornell, though classmate Frances Brooks also came close.
The Ephs will spend the week preparing before facing off against NESCAC rival Hamilton on Saturday, November 22, at 2pm, also on the home courts here in Williamstown.
