Williams Defeats Vassar 79-69

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The Williams College men's basketball team earned a 79-69 home victory over Vassar College on Wednesday night, improving to 6-1 on the season.

The Ephs came out strong, shooting 55% from the field and 44% behind the arc in the first half to build a 49–36 lead at the break. Four players finished in double figures as Williams shot an even 50% from the field (27–54) and 76% from the free-throw line, while holding Vassar to just 39% shooting.

Hudson Hansen led the Ephs with an all-around standout performance, finishing with 19 points, nine rebounds, and five assist while shooting 5-of-8 from the field and 8-of-10 at the line.

Jackson Rein recorded his third double-double of the year, contributing 14 points and a team-high 11 rebounds as Williams controlled the glass throughout the night.

Off the bench, Justin Belcher scored 12 points, hitting a pair of threes, and handing out fours assists. Aidan Yates reached double figures as well, contributing 10 points and two three-pointers. 

In all, nine Ephs scored, helping Williams pile up 36 points in the paint and 25 points from the bench.

Williams is back in action on Saturday, December 6, when they travel to face Wesleyan University at 4:30 p.m.
