MIDDLEBURY, VT—Today, between sessions at the 2025 NESCAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, Middlebury College hosted the 2025 Women's Invite. The Women's Invite serves as a final opportunity for those who competed at last weekend's NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships to swim races. This meet particularly serves the purposes of giving those who are close to being invited to the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships an opportunity to better their times (and thus their chances of being invited to NCAAs).
The Ephwomen had seven swimmers compete at this year's iteration of the Women's Invite. First was
Kyla Kelley in the 500 freestyle. The sole swimmer partaking in this event, Kelley had a strong swim to finish in a time of 5:00.26, around a second and a half off her time at NESCACs. Her time last weekend puts her at 26th in Division III right now.
Next in the water for the Ephs was
Emma Dimter and
Annika Chu in the 50 freestyle. Dimter and Chu swam a 23.70 and 23.70 respectively which was a tad off from both their times at NESCACs last weekend and the NCAA B cut.
Next off was
Clare McDermott in the 100 butterfly. In a blistering 56.20, McDermott swam a lifetime best time but was just off the NCAA B cut as well.
Bernadette Ramoy was next in the 100 breaststroke and also swam a lifetime best time of 1:04.32 but was also just off the NCAA B cut.
The final swim for the Ephwomen today was
Ruby Groves and
Abi Greenberg in the 200 butterfly. Greenberg had a stunning swim, with a strong back half to drop a second from last weekend in a 2:03.56. This time puts her at 18th in Division III right now. Groves also had a strong swim in a 2:03.83 which adds a tenth from last weekend. She sits at 21st in Division III in this event right now.
The Ephwomen return to competition next Friday, March 7, when divers
Adelaide Herman,
Lucy Savarese, and
Ashley Loh '27 travel to Springfield College to compete for an invitation to the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.
