GREENSBORO, NC – The Ephwomen continued to shine at prelims this morning, setting them up well for finals tonight on the third full day of the 2025 Division 3 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. At the end of the night, the Ephwomen sat in 6th with 167 points.
The evening finals session kicked off with the 200 medley relay with the Ephwoman squad of
Sophia Verkleeren,
Charlotte Wishnack,
Clare McDermott, and
Bernadette Ramoy. They came in seeded 9th from their morning prelims swim giving them the top seed in the consolation final tonight. With Verkleeren's strong underwaters in the backstroke leg, the team was in first position (25.37). Wishnack came in with a personal best breaststroke split of 27.99 to lengthen the lead. First year McDermott then maintained the lead in the butterfly leg dipping under 25 for a 24.98 split. Ramoy finished it off in a tight race against Hope College in the last 25 with a 23.24 freestyle leg. The squad finished 9th overall in a 1:41.58 which was faster than this morning.
The first individual event of the night featured
Abi Greenberg in the consolation of the 200 butterfly. Coming in as the 16th overall swimmer, Greenberg surged in the back half of the race out touching two others in the heat to place 14th overall moving up in the seeding. Her final time was a 2:05.54. In the morning prelims session,
Ruby Groves also had a stellar swim placing 18th with a time of 2:04.50.
In the 100 backstroke,
Clementine Robins was the first Ephwoman, competing in the consolation final tonight. With a quick tempo and strong underwaters, Robins finished 11th overall with a time of 55.31, dropping from her morning swim.
Irene Yang then took the blocks in her very first NCAA championship final. Yang finished 8th overall in a 56.10 giving her All-American Status for the first time in an individual event.
Alden White also swam this event in the morning session finishing 38th in a 57.35.
Breaststroke specialist
Charlotte Wishnack was the sole Ephwoman to compete in the 100 breaststroke tonight. Coming in as the 5th seed from her stunning morning performance, Wishnack took it out with the pack. Coming back in a speedy 32.61 second 50, Wishnack finished 5th with a lifetime best time of 1:01.69.
The final event of the evening consisted of the top heat of the 800 freestyle relay. The Ephwomen had the team of
Clementine Robins,
Carter Roebuck,
Lily Codd, and
Sophia Verkleeren take on the competition. Robins started the team off putting them in the fifth position with a split of 1:51.06. Roebuck maintained their spot and blasted a 1:50.76. Codd was next, for the third leg, swimming her part in a 1:52.08. Coming off of a NCAA record breaking performance last night, Verkleeren finished the job to touch six in a sub 1:50 1:49.49 split. The team took 6th place overall in a time of 7:23.39.

The final day of competition starts tomorrow at 10am with the 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 1650 freestyle, 400 freestyle relay, and 3 meter diving.
