Williams 7, Pomona-Pitzer 3

Location:  Claremont, CA

Records: Williams 10-4;  Pomona-Pitzer 15-7

The Short Story:

Williams swept Pomona-Pitzer Saturday afternoon in Claremont, CA behind strong pitching and power hitting. Senior Sydney Fleming tied the Ephs career home run record with two bombs in the second game.  All the runs in game two scored on home runs, two by Fleming, two by Pomona pitcher Devin Waddell and Ephs first year Dani Jackman hit the third of her career.  Fleming and Alysa DeQuiroz led the offense on the day with four and three hits respectively.  Sadie Leonard '26 remains undefeated at 7-0, and Natalie Carter and Katie Blanch combined to lead the Ephs from the mound in game two, scattering five hits.

Coach's Take:

Eph head coach Kris  Herman commented, "Sweeping a strong team today was just what we needed. We got great pitching, continued our strong hitting and had good defense all around.  It was a fun day with dozens of Williams fans on hand in southern California, and again was a true team effort.  We're excited for one more doubleheader before we head home to start NESCAC play."
