The Short Story:

The Ephs swept their doubleheader against Middlebury with a commanding pitching performance and an explosive offense. In Game 1, Sadie Leonard was nearly untouchable, striking out 14 and giving up just one hit in a complete game shutout. The offense backed Leonard up with a seven-run outburst, highlighted by a five-run fifth inning capped by Aprill Medrano's 2-RBI single and Vicky Trujillo Balderas's sacrifice fly.

Game 2 saw Katie Blanch carry the momentum in the circle, tossing six shutout innings before Natalie Carter closed the game out. The Ephs jumped ahead early thanks to Sydney Fleming's 2-run homer and never looked back. Justine Dunaway continued her tear at the plate, going 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs, while Sidney Miller reached base five times and scored three runs.

Coach's Take:

"The tone was set by the top of the order in the first game and we continued to put pressure on throughout the day," said Eph head coach Kris Herman. "Once again our defense was stellar and our pitching did a great job all day. We look forward to working hard on every little thing as we head into the last few weeks of the season."
