Ephs Split Doubleheader With Amherst at Home

Scores:

Williams 9, Amherst 2

Amherst 4, Williams 3

Location: Williamstown, MA

Records: Williams 22-11; Amherst 16-15

The Short Story:

The Ephs battled rival Amherst in a doubleheader at Cole Field. In Game 1, Williams dominated at the plate and secured a mercy-rule victory. After jumping out to an early lead in Game 2, the Ephs ultimately fell short, 4–3. Sydney Fleming starred offensively, racking up four RBIs and two home runs across both games.

Coach's Thoughts:

"I thought both pitchers pitched well enough to win, even without their best stuff today. Our defense Let us down in the second game at key moments but we weren't as good as usual all day on D," said Head Coach Kris Herman. "Our hitting was strong in both games with Syd Fleming and  Vicky Trujillo leading from the top of the order with multiple hits. Kaia Glickman hit her first HR and Justine Dunaway and Aprill Medrano also having multiple hit games."
