CLINTON, N.Y. - The #8 ranked Ephs came out on top against Middlebury and Hamilton winning both duals 218-65 and 173-126 respectively. Today marked the Ephs last dual meet of the season before heading into the Middlebury Invite and NESCACs.
The competition opened with a victory in the 200 Medley Relay, featuring
Irene Yang,
Anna Doherty,
Esme Van Orden and
Emma Dimter. Dimter had a tight race down to the last 5 yards, but ultimately brought home the victory over Hamilton for the Ephs.
In the 1000 freestyle, Junior
Carter Roebuck touched first for the Ephs in a 10:50.29. She finished in 3rd, just behind two Middlebury swimmers. Following the 1000 was the 200 freestyle, which featured
Lily Codd posting a 1:55.09 to take the win.
Maggie Farley was just behind Codd, finishing in a 1:56.52 to take 3rd.
This competition contested 50s of stroke, which is atypical for dual meets in the NESCAC.
Aly Eward finished 4th in the 50 backstroke in a fast field, posting a 28.46.
Sophie Phelps captured 1st in the 50 breaststroke with a 30.60.
Bernadette Ramoy took 3rd place behind Phelps with a 31.27. In the 50 butterfly,
Esme Van Orden was bested by a Hamilton swimmer but finished 2nd with a speedy 26.09. She was followed by
Clare McDermott,
Maggie Farley and
Annie McLean in 3rd, 4th and 5th.
Irene Yang won the 100 butterfly with a 58.55, and Van Orden took 2nd in the 50 freestyle with a 24.81 before the break. Van Orden followed that performance with a victory in the 100 freestyle just afterwards. She finished in a speedy 53.65.
Clare McDermott was just behind in a 54.02, as well as
Emma Dimter in a 54.05. The Eph women completed a 1-2-3 sweep.
On the 1 meter board, Junior
Ashley Loh won decisively with a score of 260.05.
Clare McDermott also competed for the first time, joining Loh on the boards. Loh also took 1st place on the 3 meter board, completing the sweep over Middlebury and Hamilton.
Yang then won the 100 backstroke in a 57.70, one of her specialty events.
Sophie Phelps took the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.92.
Lily Codd claimed gold in the 500 freestyle with a 5:07.33. The Eph women garnered some serious momentum with these back to back victories.
In the last individual event of the competition, the Eph women went 1-2-3 in the 100 IM featuring
Sophie Phelps,
Irene Yang and
Lily Codd. This event saw many Eph women including
Bernadette Ramoy (1:00.68),
Ruby Groves (1:02.05),
Anna Doherty (1:02.20),
Nora Sherman (1:02.98),
Carter Roebuck (1:03.25),
Brielle Gold (1:03.83) and
Caterina Li (1:04.90).
The Eph women then won the 200 freestyle relay to conclude the day. This relay featured
Maggie Farley,
Sophie Phelps,
Clare McDermott and
Emma Dimter. Next up, the Eph women will travel to Middlebury, VT, to compete in the Middlebury Invitational from Jan 30, 2026 to Jan 31, 2026.
