WESTFIELD, MASS. - The Williams College women's cross country team continued its strong season with a first-place finish at the James Earley Invitational on Saturday morning, scoring 24 points to finish well ahead of second-place Connecticut College, which finished with 76 points. The Ephs placed seven runners in the top 10, including five in the top seven.

Williams remains undefeated this season, winning all seven races they have competed in thus far.

"It was great to see them making up a big portion of the front packs, and we worked well in small groups," said head coach Dusty Lopez. "There were many significant improvements for individuals and that is a good sign for the upcoming races."

Junior Lily Yampolsky led the Ephs, finishing second overall in the 5K with a personal-best time of 18:03.1. Senior Hayley Ballard followed in fourth at 18:14.8, while first-year Keira Monagle placed fifth in 18:23.7, also recording a personal best.

First-year Ashima Bair and junior Ella Kirkwood rounded out Williams' scoring five, finishing sixth and seventh in 18:31.3 and 18:34.5, respectively. Bair also recorded a personal-best time.

Sophomore Linnea Cox finished eighth in 18:36.5, while junior Alice Culver placed 10th in 18:42.6 to give the Ephs seven runners among the top 10. Junior Mirembe Mubanda also posted a personal-best time in the race in 11th place with a time of 18:48.4.

The Ephs will return to competition next weekend at the Connecticut College Invitational on Oct. 17.
