#8 Ephs Score in Fourth Quarter during 1-0 Win over #5 Hamilton

The Williams College field hockey team improved to 6-2 in the NESCAC

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — First-year Kayla Bohlin of the eighth-ranked Williams College field hockey team showcased her clutch gene on Tuesday, as she buried her first collegiate game-winning goal with 7:58 remaining in the fourth quarter during a 1-0 triumph against No. 5 Hamilton on Williamson Field.

"I am so proud of our team," said 27th-year head coach Alix Barrale '93. "We gutted it out. It might not have been pretty, but our effort speaks volumes. Ellie Smith was outstanding. Dakota Adams and Kayla were the dynamic duo in our offensive end."

Bohlin did a little bit of everything during the scoring play for the Ephs (10-3, 6-2 NESCAC), as she started out the sequence with a steal at the midfield line off a clear attempt by Hamilton (10-4, 5-4 NESCAC). She made a run down the attacking end and found senior captain Laura Ryan, who sent a pass over to first-year Dakota Adams on the right side. Adams located Bohlin in the circle and the Wellesley, Massachusetts, native did the rest, burying a shot into the left side of the net.

Junior goalkeeper Ellie Smith made three saves, earning her 10th win and fifth shutout of the season. Senior forward Haley McAuslin applied relentless pressure for Williams, leading all student-athletes with nine total shots and four on target. The Ephs held a 17-12 lead in shots and Hamilton claimed a 5-4 advantage in penalty corners.

Williams has won seven consecutive games against Hamilton dating back to 2019. The Ephs emerged victorious during the 2025 meeting in Clinton, New York, as the two programs were tied at 3-3 following the two overtime periods and Williams won the shootout, 3-2.

The Ephs compete against No. 1 Tufts Saturday at 1 p.m. on Williamson Field.
