WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williams College men's basketball team delivered a dominant performance in an 81–47 victory over Hamilton College on Friday night at Chandler Athletic Center in NESCAC play.
With the win, the Ephs improved to 12–11 overall and 1–8 in conference action, while the Continentals moved to 5–18 and 1–78 in league competition.
Williams seized control early and never looked back, using a balanced offensive attack to build separation from the opening tip.
The Ephs raced out to a 49–27 lead in the first half and continued to extend their advantage in the second half, outscoring Hamilton 32-20 to secure the convincing home victory.
Eleven Ephs found themselves in the scoring column, led by
Matt DeVine with a career-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including four threes.
Jackson Rein added 16 points with four threes, while
Aidan Yates contributed 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting with two threes.
Hudson Hansen chipped in eight points, four rebounds, and three assists, and
Onyeraluobu Chibuogwu added a three-pointer along with a team-high six boards.
The bench combined for 18 points, led by
Wes Gudeman (5), Ej Sommers (4), and
Ben McGraw (3), with
Isiaha Dickens,
Matthew Nachamkin, and Khali Carlson each adding two.
Williams' defense was key, holding Hamilton to 47 points and forcing 13 turnovers that turned into 15 Eph points.
As a team, Williams shot 59.3% from the field, 44.8% from behind the arc, and 66.7% at the free throw line.
The Ephs close out the regular season tomorrow as they host Amherst at 3:00 p.m.
