WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williams College men's basketball team dropped their road game to Colby College 64–52 on Friday night in a NESCAC matchup.
With the result, the Ephs moved to 11–10 overall and 0–7 in conference action, while the Mules improved to 15–6 and 3–4 in league play.
Colby jumped out to a big first half, as they shot 45% from the field and 33% behind the arc to take a 40–15 lead into halftime.
Williams responded with a strong second-half effort, outscoring the Mules 37–24 as the Ephs found better offensive rhythm, shooting 40.74% from the field and 42.86% from beyond the arc after halftime.
Despite steadily trimming the deficit with timely baskets, Williams was unable to fully close the gap as Colby maintained enough separation to secure the win.
Hudson Hansen led the Ephs with 15 points, going 6-for-8 from the field and 3-for-6 at the line.
Aidan Yates added 13 points with two three-pointers, and
Jackson Rein chipped in 9 points, knocking down three long balls and securing a team-high of six boards.
Isiaha Dickens and
Ty Kuehl each added three points for the Ephs.
As a team, Williams shot 30.4% from the field and 24.1% from three-point range, while connecting on 11 of 16 free throws.
The Ephs battled on the boards with 28 rebounds and forced 14 points off 16 turnovers in the effort.
Colby was paced by Dan Civello, who scored 22 points, and Theo Pow, who added 10.
The Ephs return to action tomorrow for another NESCAC matchup, as they take on Bowdoin at 3:00 p.m.
