REDLANDS, Calif. - The No. 21-ranked Williams College men's tennis team fell, 5-2, to No. 25 University of Redlands Saturday afternoon, as the Ephs won 2-of-3 doubles matches and the Bulldogs emerged victorious during 5-of-6 singles matches at the Coach Jim Verdieck Tennis Center.
During the second doubles slot, first-year
William Luke and sophomore
Carter Fayard won by a score of 7-6 for the Ephs (6-2, 3-0 NESCAC), and then during the third position, first-year
Anthony Lim and sophomore
Robert Cooper Jr. posted a 7-6 victory as well over the Bulldogs (7-8, 1-1 SCIAC).
Senior captain
Nicholas Chen won a hard-fought, three-set match at the second singles position. He dropped the first set, 4-6, but then rallied to win sets two and three by scores of 6-1 and 6-2, respectively.
The Ephs compete at No. 15 Middlebury on Saturday, April 4, at noon.
