Micah Walton and Kathleen Smith earn All-NESCAC honors

HADLEY, Mass. - After guiding the Williams College women's basketball team to the fifth seed in the NESCAC Championship, a quarterfinal-round playoff victory and an appearance in the semifinals of the tournament, sophomore guard Micah Walton and junior forward Kathleen Smith were named to the All-Conference First and Second Teams, respectively, on Wednesday morning.

Walton scored 21 or more points eight times during the 2025-26 season for the Ephs (13-13, 5-5 NESCAC) and averaged a team-leading 15.0 points per game, the fourth-best mark in the NESCAC. The Austin, Texas, native led the team and was fourth in the conference in assists (2.8) and steals (1.8) per game, while also leading Williams and ranking third in the NESCAC in free-throw percentage (72.7%, 72 for 99).

Walton, MicahWalton was honored on the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) First and Second Team of the Week, respectively, on March 3 and Feb. 3. During a 59-44 victory at Amherst on Feb. 14, Walton recorded a game-high 24 points, shooting 10 of 18 from the field, while also securing eight rebounds. She dropped 19 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 75-55 triumph over fourth-seeded Trinity on Feb. 21 during the NESCAC Quarterfinals in Hartford, Connecticut. She scored a game-high 21 points, while shooting 9 of 10 from the free-throw line and 6 for 10 from the field, during the NESCAC Semifinals against top-seeded and No. 8-ranked Bowdoin on Feb. 28 in Brunswick, Maine.

Smith led the NESCAC in field-goal percentage (59.0%, 138 for 234) and ranked fourth in rebounds per game (8.6), as she led the Ephs in both categories. She also averaged 12.5 points per game, the 11th best mark in the conference and recorded eight double-doubles. The Plaistow, New Hampshire, native was named Most Outstanding Player and MVP during the Morin Memorial and Shooting Touch Tournaments, respectively, as Williams won both events in November and December at Chandler Gymnasium.

During a 74-47 win over Plattsburgh State in the championship game of the Morin Memorial Tournament, Smith recorded game-highs of 19 points and 19 rebounds, while shooting 7 of 11 from the field and 5 for 6 from the free-throw line. She scored a career-high 30 points and tied a personal-best 19 boards, while shooting 14 of 22 from the field, in a 73-63 win at Hamilton on Feb. 13 in Clinton, New York.

Smith was named U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division III National Player of the Week on Feb. 17. She is a three-time conference Player of the Week, a two-time member of the D3hoops.com Team of the Week and is a two-time representative on the NEWBA First Team of the Week during the 2025-26 season.
