WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Junior
Julia Zhang of the No. 13-ranked Williams College women's tennis team emerged victorious during singles and doubles action Friday afternoon, as the Ephs suffered a 5-2 setback to No. 7 Babson at the Hunt Tennis Center.
Zhang teamed up with junior
Ahn Lin during a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles for the Ephs (8-3, 2-1 NESCAC). The Beavers (8-3, 3-0 NEWMAC) won at the first and third doubles positions to earn the one point, and then won 4-of-6 singles matches to secure the win.
Zhang won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, during third singles and first-year
Ayanna Varma recorded a 6-2, 6-2, win at the fourth slot. Varma and Zhang have gone 10-1 and 7-3 in singles, respectively, this semester.
The Ephs compete in NESCAC action against No. 15 Middlebury Saturday at noon in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
