Franny Donohue Named to 2026 IWLCA Division III All-American First Team

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - After leading the No. 20-ranked Williams College women's lacrosse team to its fourth-ever Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament this spring, senior captain and attack Franny Donohue earned Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III All-American First Team honors.

Donohue also earned a spot on the IWLCA All-Berkshire Region Team and NESCAC All-Conference First Team this year. The 2026 Ephs (12-8, 5-5 NESCAC) qualified for their seventh-ever NCAA Tournament and first since 2014, as they defeated Grove City, 18-3, in the first round on May 9, No. 5 William Smith, 11-10, during the second round on May 10 and No. 25 Colorado College, 16-5, at the Sweet 16 on May 16. Donohue finished with two goals and two assists during the win over Grove City, one goal and three assists in the victory against William Smith and two goals and four assists in the triumph over Colorado College.

This season, Donohue ranks third in the NESCAC in total points (96), points per game (4.80), goals per game (2.85) and total goals (57), and fourth in total assists (39) and assists per game (1.95). She tallied two or more points in 19-of-20 games, posting six or more on nine occasions. She finished with eight points, respectively, in victories over RPI on March 11 and Southern Maine on March 18, with the eight points tying the fourth most during a single game in program history. Her five assists against RPI are tied for the second most during a single game in program history.

The Cold Spring Harbor, New York, native tallied three goals and four assists during a 12-10 victory at then-No. 15 Scranton on March 24, as the Ephs outscored the hosts, 5-2, in the fourth quarter. Donohue recorded three goals and two assists, as Williams defeated then-No. 3 Colby, 11-9, on March 7 in Waterville, Maine.

Donohue scored a hat trick for Williams in the Elite Eight at No. 4 Tufts on May 17, as she moved into first place in the program's record book with 96 points in a single season. Her single-season marks this year of 39 assists and 57 goals are second and tied for eighth, respectively, in program history. Her career total of 153 goals are the third most in program history, while she ranks fifth in career points (228) and tied for sixth in career assists (75).
