Williams Cross Country Announces 2026 Schedule

6/16/2026 11:32:00 AM

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Following a successful 2025 campaign, the Williams College men's and women's cross country teams have announced their schedules for the upcoming fall season.

The Ephs will open up the season on Sept. 5 at the annual Little Three Championships hosted by Wesleyan before traveling to Middlebury the following weekend.

Williams then returns home on Sept. 19 for the Purple Valley Classic, the program's only home competition of the season, where the Ephs will honor their senior class.

Both teams will compete in four regular-season meets before championship racing begins on Oct. 31 at the NESCAC Championships, hosted by Middlebury.

The Ephs will then turn their attention to the NCAA postseason, racing at the NCAA Regional Championships on Nov. 15 hosted by Trinity College, and the NCAA Division III National Championships on Nov. 21 in Northfield, Minnesota, hosted by Carleton College.

"Our team will have great opportunities this season to compete at the regional and national level," said head coach Dusty Lopez

The women's team enters the 2026 season with high expectations after capturing both the NESCAC and NCAA Regional titles in 2025 before finishing as the NCAA Division III National Runners-Up. Returning All-Americans Kate Tuttle (JR.), Tamar Byl-Brann (SR.), and Morgan Eigel (SR.) will lead a strong group looking to build on last season's success.

On the men's side, reigning NESCAC individual champion Eli Welch (JR.) returns after helping the Ephs earn Runners-Up finishes at both the NESCAC Conference and NCAA Regional Championships.

Welch, along with returning All-Region performers Malcolm Oakes (JR.) and Keiyu Mamiya (JR.), will look to lead Williams back to the national stage following a 14th-place finish at the NCAA Championships.

"We'll be ready to show our best every time we line up to race. It's also exciting to host again at our home course this year, in preparation to bid for the NCAA Mideast Regional championship in 2027."
