LEWISTON, Maine. - The Williams College volleyball team battled in its second NESCAC match of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Bates, 3-1, at Underhill Arena.
With the loss, the Ephs move to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in NESCAC play.
Williams dropped the opening set, 25-20, before responding in the second set, taking a 25-18 victory to even the match at 1-1. Bates regained control in the third set, earning a 25-17 victory before closing out the match with a 25-14 win in the fourth set.

Ellie Simons and senior
Keely Campuzano led the Williams offense with 10 kills apiece. Simons added two service aces and five digs, while Campuzano added one block.
Clara Massey contributed five kills while hitting an impressive .833, while
Kate Lane,
Adalena Rodgers and
Chidimma Obi each added five kills. Obi led the Ephs at the net with four blocks, while
Elsa Miller contributed three blocks and Lane and Massey added two.
Emily Cao paced the Williams offense with 21 assists, while
Morgan Daetz added 18 assists, with both setters posting five digs a piece.
Eve Kaplan led defensively with 12 digs and added three service aces, while Rodgers contributed 11 digs.
Williams returns to action Friday, Sept. 25, when the Ephs host Russell Sage College at 6:00 p.m. in Chandler Gymnasium.
