WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — After recording a program-best, ninth-place finish at the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship, the Williams College wrestling team has high expectations for the 2026-27 season, as the Ephs announced their 2026-27 schedule Tuesday.
The unit begins the journey on Saturday, Nov. 7, as it will take on George Mason, Union Community College, Marymount and Davis & Elkins in Fairfax, Virginia. Williams closes out the first semester of competition with the Doug Parker Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 21, in Springfield, Massachusetts, and the RIT Invite on Saturday, Dec. 5, in Rochester, New York.
"This schedule gives our team a lot to look forward to,"Â said first-year head coach Ryne Morrison. "We have some great competition this season, and every week will give us an opportunity to test ourselves, put our guys in challenging situations and create an environment where we can be our best version in March. We are excited about the direction of this program and to test ourselves against Division I competition on Nov. 7."
The Ephs open January with the annual Williams Open on Saturday, Jan. 2, starting at 10 a.m. from Lasell Gymnasium in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The group hosts Bridgewater State in a dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m.
The New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Duals are scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 24, at the Wildcat Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The NCAA Regional Championship occurs on Feb. 26-27 at Blake Arena in Springfield, Massachusetts, and then the national meet takes place on March 12-13 at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
The Ephs set a program record in 2025-26 by sending six wrestlers to the national championship and also secured a program-best 45.5 points on the national stage. The 2009 and 2015 teams finished with 30.5 and 33 points, respectively, as both squads placed 10th at the NCAA Championship. Williams also secured its best finish ever at the NCAA Regional in 2026, earning runner-up honors.
