WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The 18th-ranked Williams College women's soccer team shared the wealth Saturday afternoon, as five Ephs tallied at least one point during a 3-1 victory over Amherst on Cole Field.

"It was a great result against our big rival in Amherst," said seventh-year head coach Sarah Raymond. "It was fun to see many alumni back cheering the team on in their cow suits. I am proud of the soccer we played today. There were many great moments and top performances. Reece Willison was an absolute rock in the back and her goal was a stunner."

The Ephs (5-1-0, 5-1-0 NESCAC) opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, as Willison buried her first goal of the season. Emma Darling evened the game at 1-1 for Amherst (3-4-0, 0-4-0 NESCAC) during the 54th minute, as her shot from the right side ricocheted off an Ephs' defender into the back of the goal.

The hosts regained the lead one minute, six seconds after relinquishing the goal. The play began with a punt by junior goalkeeper Chelsea Mohammed, and then in the Ephs' attacking zone, senior captain Bria Abbiati headed a through ball to sophomore forward Maya Lloyd. Llyod went into the 18-yard box, kept her composure after slipping and guided the ball into the bottom left corner for her sixth collegiate game-winning tally.

Williams ended the scoring in the 78th minute off a free kick from 25 yards out by sophomore midfielder Olivia Bevilacqua. First-year forward Alli Aleman one-timed the ground pass from inside the box into the left side of the net for her first collegiate goal.

The Ephs held a 17-12 lead in shots and a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal. Each team attempted four corner kicks. Mohammed improved to 5-1-0 on the season with three saves.

"Our defense across the board was good," said Raymond. "They played tough, won their moments and battled for every ball. Elizabeth Stophel had a fantastic first half to put them under pressure continuously and our offensive rotations created some fantastic opportunities. It is exciting to see the depth we have and what we are capable of."

Williams has won four of its last five meetings with Amherst, as the Ephs went on the road and defeated the Mammoths by a score of 1-0 in 2023 and 2025. During the 2022 season, Williams defended its home field with a 1-0 victory over Amherst.

The Ephs compete against Skidmore on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Saratoga Springs, New York.
