Brendan Costa enters his second season as an Assistant Coach for the Williams College football team in 2023. He coaches the running backs, tight ends and super backs coach, while also handling the offensive quality control duties.
Costa graduated from Bates in May 2022 with a bachelor's degree in rhetoric. He played quarterback for the Bobcats, earning All-NESCAC honors for the fall of 2021 on his way to becoming a four-year letterwinner in football.
His senior year, he broke his own school record for total yards in a season (2,063), with 1,680 passing yards and 383 rushing yards. The passing yards is also good for a school record. Costa threw for 4.596 career passing yards, which is only surpassed at Bates by Brandon Colon '08.
Williams is Costa's first collegiate coaching experience. He spent the spring of 2021 coaching the COVID-19 season at his high school alma mater Joseph Case in Swansea, Massachusetts. He worked with the quarterbacks and defensive backs.
