Nick Hennessey enters his eighth season as an assistant coach for the Williams College football team in 2026. He serves as the offensivec oordinator, a role he was promoted to in February 2021.

A veteran of the NFL (Buffalo Bills), the United Football League (Omaha Nighthawks) and the Canadian Football League (Hamilton Tiger-Cats/British Columbia Lions), Hennessey joined head coach Mark Raymond’s staff in May 2019. In his first year as the offensive coordinator in 2021, WIlliams finished with an unblemished 9-0 record and won the NESCAC title.

In Hennessey’s first season at Williams, he served as running backs and tight ends coach. With the help of his tutelage, the Ephs were ranked seventh nationally in rushing yards per carry (5.92), 14th in rushing yards per game (247.8) and 49th in passing efficiency (21 TDs, 3 INTs). Williams led the conference in passing TDs (21) and rushing offense.

Hennessey was an All-American offensive tackle at Colgate University before embarking on a professional career. His college coaching career began as the offensive line coach then the running backs coach at St. Lawrence University (2010-13) under current Williams Head Coach Mark Raymond, followed by stints at Western Michigan University (2014-15), John Carroll University (2016) and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (2017-18).

Hennessey graduated from Colgate in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in history and earned a master’s in sports management from Western Michigan in 2016.
