Dana Borges arrived at Williams in the summer of 2017 to serve as an assistant coach on Mike Monti's staff.
Last year Borges was an assistant coach at Colgate University. At Colgate Dana was responsible for assisting with all aspects of the program. Primary functions included aiding in on-ice skill development sessions, practicing planning, video analysis, working with the power play, game day observation, and co-direct video recruiting. Borges helped three players go on to play professionally (AHL, ECHL) following the season.
Prior to Colgate Borges served as an assistant ice hockey coach at his alma mater Stonehill College for two years. The Skyhawks went 42-25-8 over his two and a half seasons as an assistant, winning three straight NE-10 regular season titles, and the 2015-16 NE-10 Conference Championship.
Borges has been heavily involved with USA Hockey. Serving as the USA Hockey Associate Coach in Chief for the Massachusetts District-Director of ADM as well as coaching at USA Hockey National and District Camps.
Borges played professionally one season with the Evry Peaux Rouges of the French Division II after his successful collegiate career at Stonehill.
A four-year letter winner at Stonehill, Borges served as captain his junior and senior seasons and he was named the Northeast-10 Man of the Year in 2013 as well as a Capital One All-American.
Borges was also awarded the Father Jack McCarthy Award and Edward E. Martin Outstanding Student-Athlete Award at Stonehill and was a semifinalist for the Joseph Concannon Award, which is annually given to the Top DII-III American born ice hockey player in New England.
Borges graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stonehill in 2013 with a degree in sociology.
