Jamie Cates enters his first season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Williams College men's ice hockey team in 2024-25.

Cates was a student-athlete for the program during the 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons. He totaled six goals, nine assists and 15 points, while playing in 51 games and serving as a senior captain in 2023-24. 

He was a member of the 2022-23 team that made a run all the way to the NESCAC championship game as the eighth seed and the 2021-22 squad that reached the semifinals of the conference tournament.
