WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. – The Williams College men's hockey team has added assistant coach Nate Skidmore to its staff. Skidmore joins head coach Bill Kangas for the upcoming season.
In 2020-21, Skidmore was the Assistant Coach for the Odessa Jackalopes in the North American Hockey League. In his first season with the Jackalopes, Skidmore managed the defenseman, goaltenders, and penalty kill – the latter being one of the more consistent aspects of the Jackalopes, finishing with 81.6% and 11th overall in the North American Hockey League. He spent the 2019-20 season in NCAA Div. I with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) as a volunteer assistant coach with the Engineers. At RPI, Skidmore’s duties included video breakdown and analysis, individualized goalie development, player skill development, and strategic team planning.
A 2019 graduate of SUNY Potsdam, Skidmore was a goaltender and a four-year member of the Bears hockey program, finishing his career earning Most Valuable Player Award as a senior. Skidmore was a four-year American Hockey Coaches Association Academic All-America honoree and the Maxcy Molnar Award winner in 2019.
