Annie Rush

Annie Rush '19 enters the third season as an Assistant Coach for the Williams College women's ice hockey program in 2024-25.

In 2023-24, the women's ice hockey team raced out to a 6-3-2 record, culminating with a 3-2 overtime win at then-No. 15-ranked Nazareth on Jan. 9. The Ephs also emerged victorious at then-No. 9-ranked Trinity on Feb. 3, 2-1, in Hartford, Connecticut. On the women's crew side, the complete team finished second out of 20 at the NESCAC Championship and the Second Varsity Eight placed first out of 18. The unit also claimed the third-place team title at the NCAA Championship.

During Rush's first year as an Assistant for the women's ice hockey team, the Ephs defeated four ranked teams. In 2023, the women's crew program won the NESCAC Championship, the team's second Varsity Eight took third place during the NCAA Division III Championship and two Ephs were named Pocock Racing Shell All-Americans.

A native of Anchorage, Alaska, Rush majored in geosciences and environmental studies, while at Williams and was a four-year member of the ice hockey and rowing teams. Annie graduated in 2019.

As an undergraduate at Williams, Rush played in 95 career ice hockey games and compiled 58 points (23 goals, 35 assists), while captaining the Ephs to the 2019 NESCAC Championship, the program's first NCAA tournament win and an NCAA Quarterfinal appearance in her senior season.In that same season, Rush was selected as a Second Team All-NESCAC Forward in 2019. 

As a rower, Annie contributed to a NESCAC Championship in 2016, a second-place finish at the Head of the Charles in 2018 and multiple appearances at NCAAs. 

Rush is no stranger to the NESCAC, spending the 2021-22 season at Wesleyan University, coaching the ice hockey and rowing teams and serving as an Assistant Coach for the Hamilton College men’s and women’s rowing teams in spring 2021. After graduating from Williams, Rush served as Assistant Hockey Coach for UMass Boston.
