Hanna Rose enters her first season as an Assistant Coach for the Williams College women's ice hockey team in 2024-25.
She is a native of Three Mile Bay, New York, and graduated from Plattsburgh State with a bachelor's in mathematics, a master’s in secondary education and a minor in coaching. Rose had an interesting hockey career at Plattsburgh State, starting off strong by being a part of the 2019 National Championship team and receiving Rookie of the Year in the NEWHL.
During her first year (2018-19), she was awarded the AHCA Krampade All-America Scholar award ... Two-time D3hockey.com National Team of the Week (Nov. 8 and 20) ... NEWHL All-Rookie of the Year Team (Feb. 28) ... Two-time NEWHL Rookie of the Week honoree (Nov. 8 and 20) ... Ranks in NCAA Division III in points per game among defenders and in points per game among first years ... Season high of two goals against Oswego (Dec. 1) ... Ended the season with 17 points, featuring eight goals and nine assists ... Registered five multi-point games for the Cardinals.
At the start of her sophomore year, Rose had some unforeseen medical issues that put a halt on her first semester play. She returned in January, only to have her season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This continued into her junior year, as the NEWHL canceled the season. She attempted to come back her senior year, but made the difficult decision to have a total hip replacement. Rose helped as a student volunteer coach for the next two years. During the 2022-23 season, Kevin Houle, Julia Duquette, Kassi Abbott and Rose won NEWHL Coaching Staff of the Year.
Rose graduated in 2023 and went back to her high school alma mater, Northwood School, to coach the 19U girls' hockey team and teach mathematics.
