SPRINGFIELD, MA--A stellar defensive effort led the Ephs (10-3)
past the host Springfield (7-5) on Tuesday, 65-50. The Ephs
notched 12 assists to just 6 turnovers while forcing 7 Pride
turnovers to just 6 team assists.
Williams didn't turn in its best shooting performance of the
season, shooting just a touch over 40% from the field, but the Ephs
stifled the Springfield scoring attack, holding the home team to
just 32% and 3 of 10 from long-range.
A familiar face led the Eph offense, as senior Kevin Snyder
(Littleton, CO) recorded a game-high 23 points on 5 of 8 from the
field and 10 of 12 from the charity stripe. Snyder also added
a game-high 6 assists. Joining Snyder in double digits were
Geogehegan (Cape Elizabeth, ME) with 17 points and 5 boards, and
Schultz with 10 points and a game-high 7 rebounds.
For the Pride, only forward Pat Crean and guard Ryan Blackmon
were able to register in the double digits with 18 and 14 points
respectively.
Williams next game will be a home match-up against archrival
Amherst on Saturday in Chandler Gymnasium. The game is slated
for 4:00 pm.
