SPRINGFIELD – The Williams College
men's swimming and diving team (6-2) won their sixth
consecutive meet, defeating the Springfield Pride 172 to 119. The team performed well in
the second meet of the week, again mixing up the line up to test
their potential in the second to last dual meet before more
competitive invitations and championships.
The Ephs totaled
eleven event victories out of the total sixteen, dominating with
sweeps in the 1000-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard
backstroke, and 100-yard butterfly. Eddie Layng, Ben Wampler, and
Tom Vieth from the 200-yard medley relay went on to pick up wins in
the 100-yard butterfly (54.50), 50-yard freestyle (21.61), and the

“The team's
performance was on track with my expectations in a meet that has
been historically difficult for us,” said head coach Steve
Kuster. He added,
“Henry Blackford continues to improve, putting out solid
performances in the 200-yard medley relay, 200-yard butterfly, and
500-yard freestyle.
Stuart Horgan, Phil Treesh, and the guys in the 100-yard butterfly
presented great, competitive races.”
