Cambridge, MA -- Today, the Ephs traveled to Cambridge to take on Harvard and Stanford. Knowing the matches would not be easy; the Ephs went into the match with a mindset to play their best.
The first match was against Stanford at 12:30, resulting in a 9-1 win for Stanford. Hollis Miller, playing number ten for Williams, pulled out an amazing 3-2 victory. A majority of the Ephs also won one or two games during their matches.
The women then went on to challenge Harvard, the national champions, at 2:00 p.m., resulting in a 9-0 loss. The Ephs worked really hard and focused on playing good squash. Captain, Kavitha Mannava, stated, "We worked hard during our preseason, and we could really see the results. Everyone should be very proud of how they played."
Although the Purple Cows finished the day 0-2, the high level of fitness and determination portrayed by the team predicts a very promising season. At the end to the day, Coach Zafi Levy gave his opinion on the matches, stating, "I was extremely happy with the way our team played against Stanford. It showed how much potential this team has. Our young players stepped up big time and played extremely well. I still think we have room to improve, but it was a very good start to the season."
