No. 16 Ephs take on No. 17 Bowdoin in Kurtz Cup Quarterfinals Friday

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The No. 16-ranked Williams College women's squash team competes against No. 17 Bowdoin Friday at 9 a.m. in the Kurtz Cup Quarterfinals during the College Squash Association (CSA) Divisional Team Championships at the Arlen Specter Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The winner of the fourth-seeded Ephs (6-9, 4-4 NESCAC) and fifth-seeded Polar Bears (8-8, 5-5 NESCAC) match will compete against the winner of the top-seeded/No. 13 Middlebury and eighth-seeded/No. 20 Denison match Saturday during the semifinal round at 3 p.m. The championship match for the bracket will take place Sunday at 9 a.m.

All 14 Ephs have played immense roles during the 2025-26 season, as head coach Hesham Aly and assistants Blair Dils and Thomas Hodgson have provided extraordinary leadership. Melanie Wang '27 has earned three victories at the second slot and two wins at the top position. She was named to the NESCAC All-Conference First and Second Team, respectively, in 2024 and 2025. At the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, Wang was the recipient of the conference's Rookie of the Year accolade.

Sophia Koehler '27, who was named to the NESCAC All-Conference Second Team in 2024 and 2025, has gone 6-1 this season, while Rachel Miller '27, an All-Conference Second Team honoree in 2024, has compiled three victories. Rhea Pandit '27 has earned four victories at the second slot and one in the top position.

Captains Roshni Pal '26 and Anika Kakarla '27 have combined for 16 victories this season, while Alicia Chen '29 (10-4 record), Naomi Jefferson-Sambanis '27 (5-3 record), Annie Chang '27 (4-2 record), Frances Brooks '29 (6 wins), Mahika Gupta '28 (3 wins), Giselle Ciriaco '26 (2 wins), Lucy Farman-Farmaian '29 (2 wins) and Catherine Li '28 (1 win) have all been focal points behind the team's success.
