ORANGE, CA -- A nine-run first inning put the
Williams College softball team in a hole it could not climb out of
Thursday, and the Ephs dropped a 11-3 decision to St. Thomas (Mn.)
University.
The loss left Williams with a 3-11 record at the conclusion of
its trip out West. The Ephs host Western New England for a
doubleheader Wednesday beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Williams actually led 2-0 against St. Thomas after a two-run
double by Mary Beth Daub in the top of the first scored Oriana
Mcgee and Ali Hart, who had singled. Daub wasn't as fortunate from
the circle, as the Tommies touched her for nine runs on five hits
and three walks over 2/3 of an inning.
Williams finished with four hits, one each from Mcgee, Hart,
Daub and Merilee Weston.
