WILLIAMSTOWN—The Williams Men's Squash team (1-5) dropped their fourth consecutive match, this time at the hands of the second ranked Yale Bulldogs by a score of 9-0.
Senior captain Will Gruner was the only Eph to muster a game off his opponent at the number two position. The rest of the squad fought hard but was generally overwhelmed by their Yale counterparts.
"We had good performances from the boys today. Yale is such a strong team, but many of the boys played really well and pushed their opponents hard. Will Gruner, and Alec Greaves-Tunnel played exceptionally well. I was also happy with the way Will Morris and Taylor competed today and think that our injured players (Jack Ervasti, Andrew Maruca and Nick Marks) have improved and look good. We are looking forward to play all three Maine teams this weekend," commented head coach Zafi Levy after the contest.
This match marks the end of a hellish bit of schedule for the eleventh ranked Ephs, who have played five of their first six matches against top ten opponents, including three of the top five.
Williams will look to rebound Saturday as they are set to host the Colby Mules and Bowdoin Polar Bears at 1:30 and 3:30 respectively. The Ephs will finish off the weekend Sunday at home against Bates, perennially one of their toughest opponents. Match time is scheduled for noon.
