Williamstown -- Today the Ephs took on the Bobcats at noon. The women trained hard for this highly anticipated match, and it paid off, earning a 7-2 victory. This was a crucial win for the Ephs, determining their ranking at nationals. Knowing it was going to be a battle, the women all worked very hard and played extremely well.
The Simon Squash Center was electric, with a lot of close and exciting matches. Even though Courtney Bogle and Kavitha Mannava fell to their opponents, they played amazing squash. The women were more than happy with today's result, believing the final score would be much closer, and are excited to see how their future matches will turn out, especially against Brown and Dartmouth. Coach Zafi Levy believes that after today's level of play, the women can even defeat Brown and Dartmouth.
All of the hard work leading up to today's match really paid off, and the women demonstrated what they are capable of. Captain Kavitha Mannava stated, "We knew going into this match that the rest of our season would really be dictated by our performance today, and everyone really played their best and were very mentally tough. I was especially proud of our first-years, Gibbs and Alyssa, who both showed great potential by pulling out hard-fought matches and playing really mature squash." The women are excited to take on Penn, George Washington, and Navy next weekend.
