CAMBRIDGE, MA – The Ephs fell to top-ranked team Stanford today 9-0 in their last regular match of the season. The team will focus next on training for the next two weeks before national championships at the end of February.
Playing the five-court system, the team fought hard against an extremely skilled team. Memorable matches included that of Melissa Swann (#5), who got a game off of her opponent. Nicole Friedman (#1) also played impressive squash against a top-ranked player, managing to have close games, as did Esther Baek at the #3 position.
Captain Alyssa Ritchie had this to say about the match: "Playing a team as strong as Stanford is always a fun challenge for us, and today was no exception. We wish them the best in the rest of their season."
The Ephs will next travel to Princeton University in two weeks for the CSA national championships, where they aim to make the finals of the Kurtz Cup.
