SANTA BARBARA, CA -- Dan Greenberg's #11 Williams College men's tennis team (6-2) took on the Warriors of Westmont College (5-6) and prevailed 9-0 in the Ephs' penultimate match on the west coast.
Westmont entered at 5-5 and the Warriors had won their last three matches and they were 2-0 at home this season, while the Ephs entered off a big win over #14 Pomona Pitzer their last time out.
Greenberg used his normal doubles lineup to begin the match and then altered his singles lineup giving several players a chance to compete in a west coast match. The closest doubles match was at #2 where Alex Taylor and Calvin Chung won 8-6.
In singles play Deepak Indrakanti at #2, Ben Lebowitz at #4, and Christopher Wu at #6 won in straight sets.
"This was a good non-D3 match for us leading up to CMS tomorrow," said Eph head coach Dan Greenberg. "We got a lot of guys playing time and everyone fought hard to the finish. We're excited to end our trip on a high note tomorrow."
#11 Williams will close out its spring break west coast sojurn with a match at #3 Claremont Mudd Scripps tomorrow beginning at 5:00 PM PST.
