INDIANAPOLIS - The No. 24-ranked Williams College men's tennis team will be represented at the 2026 NCAA Division III Individual Championships on May 23-26, as senior captains
Nicholas Chen and
Simon Volkema qualified as a doubles team and will compete at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The University of the South will host the event. The individual championships consist of 32 singles student-athletes and 16 doubles teams. The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes. This is Chen's third consecutive season competing at the Individual Championships and Volkema is making his debut on the stage.
Both student-athletes earned a spot on the All-NESCAC First Team in doubles, while Volkema garnered First Team recognition in singles and Chen collected Second Team honors in singles. Volkema and Chen finished 19-11 and 18-10, respectively, in doubles during the 2025-26Â season. The two went 12-5 together during No. 1 doubles.
This is Chen's third consecutive year receiving All-Conference First Team acknowledgment in doubles, while Volkema earned a spot on the Second Team in singles during the 2024-25 season. Furthermore, Chen is a two-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American, earning the award in doubles during 2024 and singles during 2025.
