Rodd grew up in nearby Adams, Mass. where he played multiple sports growing up. He graduated from MCLA in 1998 with a BA in Biology and a concentration in Athletic training.

In 2000, he earned a Master's degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Sports Medicine from Western Michigan University. Rodd joined the Eph staff in 2006, after serving as an Assistant Professor of Physical Education at Delta College (MI). Prior to his time at Delta College, he served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Kellogg Community College from 2000-02.Â

In 2012 he was named the Ephs' Director of Sports Medicine.
