TOKYO – Williams College alum and former Eph soccer standout Kristi Kirshe '17 had an Olympic debut that dreams are made of.
Kirshe entered a 7-7 game at the start of second half and she turned the game in the USA's favor in a hurry.
Kirshe scored a try on her very first Olympic touch running over half of the field to give the USA a lead they would not relinquish. The conversion after the Kirshe try gave the USA a 14-7 lead.
Less than 90 seconds later on just her second Olympic touch Kirshe was off on another long run that saw her notch her second try and with the conversion the USA held a 14-point lead, 21-7.
The USA added another try and conversion and China matched that try and conversion as time wound down to make the final 28-14
Next up for the USA is a match against host Japan that will air on the USA Network at 5:00 AM on July 29.
