Stephen Monsulick Named Interim Nordic Ski Coach at Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. (Sept. 22, 2021) – Williams College Director of Athletics
Lisa Melendy announced that Stephen Monsulick has been named the Interim Head Coach of Nordic Skiing at Williams College.
 
"Steve comes with extensive experience in the sport of Nordic skiing and knowledge of EISA    and New England courses," stated Melendy. "The search committee was impressed with his thoughtful approach to training and team building. I want to thank the search committee, Meghan Gillis, Kelsey Gura, Steve Kuster, and Marc Mandel for their time and insights in this process.
 
Monsulick comes to Williams from NCAA DI University of New Hampshire (UNH), where he has served as the Wildcats' assistant Nordic coach since September 2008. Prior to coaching at UNH Monsulick's first collegiate coaching experience was as an assistant Nordic coach at his alma mater Bates College from October 2007 to May 2008. In addition, Monsulick is a USA  Level 100 Certified Coach and has been a National U-16 Talent ID Camp Coach.
 
"I am very excited to be joining the Williams College ski team," said Monsulick. "Williams has a strong tradition of skiing and I am looking forward to helping the team continue to build on that tradition. I would also like to thank Athletic Director Lisa Melendy and the search committee for this incredible opportunity. I am thrilled to be a part of this athletic department as well as the greater Williams College community." Monsulick will start at Williams on October 1.
 
Thus far six athletes coached by Monsulick have earned NCAA All-America honors, 21 have   earned All-East Region honors, and 42 athletes have qualified for the NCAA Championships. He has coached 11 athletes who have won carnival races, three earned EISA Rookie of the Year Honors, and six athletes have qualified for  World  Junior and World U-23 Championships.
Monsulick competed in Nordic skiing, cross country, and track & field at Bates College graduating in 2007 with a B.S. in Geology and he earned a Master of Science degree from UNH in 2014 in Kinesiology.
