Women's Cross Country

All-NESCAC Honors for Genna Girard, Molly Fitzgibbons, Ella Ball, Alexandra Bettez and Head Coach Pete Farwell

WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. – The Williams women's cross country team placed four runners in the top eight to win the NESCAC Championship and four team members and head coach Pete Farwell have been honored by NESCAC.
 
Williams won its 19th NESCAC title overall, third in a row, and the sixth in the last seven years.
 
Junior Genna Girard finished in second place in the NESCAC Championship race and earned her second NESCAC First Team honor (2021). She was also the NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2021.
 
Junior Molly  Fitzgibbons captured fourth place this year and claimed her first All-NESCAC cross country honor. Sophomore Ella Ball came in right behind Fitzgibbons in fifth place to earn First Team honors. In 2021 Ball was named to the All-NESCAC Second Team. Senior Alexandra Bettez finished in eighth place at the NESCAC Championship to earn Second Team laurels.  
 
Eph head coach Pete Farwell was named the NESCAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year in a vote by his peers. This is Farwell's seventh NESCAC Women's Coach of the Year award and he is the only Eph coach to garner the honor since its inception in 2000.
