Napeloni Stands Out in First Day of Citrus Invitational

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – The Williams College Ephs Wrestling Team is competing in the Citrus Invitational at the Broward County Convention Center. The tournament features 16 Division III programs from across the country. At the end of the first day, the Ephs sit in 11th place in the field with 48.5 points. Three Ephs remain in contention for top-eight finishes in their respective weight classes. Jack Napeloni and William Smith can finish as high as third at 133 and 184 respectively, while Peter Kane is still in contention for first place at 157. The rest of the Ephs roster can finish as high as 9th place in their weight classes.

Awaiting an important bout tomorrow morning with Andrew Marchese of Castelton at 133 is Jack Napeloni. The standout sophomore from Denville, New Jersey exhibited his grit today, pulling off back-to-back narrow wins by decision in his opening matches over stiff competition and responding to a setback in the quarterfinals with a victory in the consolation bracket to keep his podium chances alive.
