Scores: Whitewater 5, Williams 1
Location: Clermont, FL
Records: Williams 4-3, Whitewater
The Short Story: Williams and Whitewater both had seven hits but Whitewater scored four runs with two outs in the first four innings to put the Ephs away in the rain shortened contest.
Coach's Take: "We didn't do anything really poorly, we just didn't put things together today. Elyse pitched well overall but wasn't able to shut down innings. On offense we couldn't string things together. We're looking forward to keeping the learning going and getting back at it tomorrow."
- Kris Herman
How It Happened
- Whitewater struck first, plating two runs in the first on two hits and a walk, surrounded by three strikeouts.
- Elyse Chan had a season-leading six strikeouts on the mound.
- The tying run for the Ephs was cut down at the plate on a strong throw by the Warhawk's left fielder
- Torrential downpours stopped the game in the bottom of the fifth. This makes it a complete game and Whitewater gets the win, thwarting any hopes for a Williams comeback.
