Powerful Offense Leads Williams to 16-4 Win Over Endicott

Williamstown, MA –
The Williams College Ephs (5-7) displayed a high-power offense, with three separate players tallying hat tricks. The Ephs bounced back emphatically from their OT loss to Amherst by defeating the Endicott College Gulls (9-6) by a score of 16-4.

It would not take the Ephs long to find the back of the net as the opening goal came just a minute and a half into the game. On an amazing solo run from Grace Collier, the first year would find some space in the slot and fire one home. Williams would then add two in quick succession as Allison Norris would set up Claudia Russell for the score from in tight. Soon after, Isabel Arvelo would capitalize off a free position shot, before scoring again minutes later to extend the Ephs lead to four. Endicott would add a goal before the end of the quarter; however, the damage had been done.

The Ephs would continue to roll in the second frame as Abby Godwin would bury one home just 45 seconds into the quarter. After Endicott offered two in response, Isabel Arvelo would quickly snuff out the danger, completing her first half hat trick. Claudia Russel would score her second, before Lily Warendorf found the back of the net to end the scoring for the half.

Defensively, the Ephs would stand tall, only allowing eleven shots on target in the first half. Junior goalie Caitlyn Joyce was excellent as well, only conceding three in the first two quarters against a persistent Gulls offense.

The third quarter would belong to Claudia Russell and Shea van Den Broek. Russell would begin the half with three goals in the opening four minutes, bringing her total on the day to five. Shea van Den Broek would carry on the scoring as she would finish three in four minutes as well. Grace Collier would add on her second of the day as well, extending the Ephs lead to eleven entering the final quarter.

Sarah Skidmore would find Allison Norris open, who would score the only goal of the quarter, ending a strong performance from the Ephs.

Eph head coach Alice Lee commented after the game, "Great team effort tonight and connection on the field! Proud of the team and we're looking forward to the next one! "

Williams looks to carry a winning attitude into the weekend where they face an important NESCAC opponent, away at Wesleyan University.
