The Short Story: After ending the weekend on a good note with a close win against Amherst, the Ephs handily won both games of a doubleheader against Western Connecticut State, outscoring the Wolves 13-1 overall.

Coach's Take: "At the end of the day, we want to win. We're a mix-and-match team, and we do whatever it takes. We still have a lot of room to get better, but we have four pitchers who can get people out and we've got good hitters at every place in the batting order. If you've got good 7, 8, and 9 hitters, you can turn the lineup over, and that's the key to great offense." –

How it Happened
- With a slim, 2-1 lead, the Ephs broke through in the bottom of the third inning of Game 1. Left fielder Tayler Wise '24, first baseman Bailey Burger-Moore '23, and right fielder Mara Kipnis '22 hit a double, single, and triple, respectively, all with nobody out. Kipnis scored on her own triple, thanks to a throwing error by second baseman Nicole Antonowicz, to make it 5-1.
- Maya Hartman '22 relieved Adhya Tandon '23 on the mound with two on and two out in the top of the sixth. Right fielder Carly Cordova hit a single to right, but Kipnis threw out Wolves third baseman Kaitlyn Dean at home to end the threat.
- The Ephs exploded on offense in Game 2, scoring two runs in each of the first two innings and four more in the third. Designated player Ronni Ramos '24 hit a two-run triple over the head of Cordova in right field to make it 8-0.
Inside the Box Score
- Williams put together a combined effort on offense in Game 1, recording nine hits by eight different players. Burger-Moore was the only Eph with multiple hits.
- Though it was only a five-inning outing due to the mercy rule, pitcher Madison Mok '24 gave up just two hits and threw her third complete game, and first shutout, of the season.
- Despite scoring 13 runs across both games, the Ephs didn't hit a single home run. Ramos' triple in Game 2 was Williams' only multi-RBI hit in either game.
- After allowing 11 runs to Amherst last Friday, the Ephs have allowed just five runs in their last four games.
Next Up for the Ephs
- On Wednesday at 3:30PM, the Ephs will continue their homestand with a doubleheader against MCLA.
