Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Williams Nine Goal Run Fuels 16-7 Win Over Babson

Williamstown, MA – In the first ever Men's Lacrosse meeting between the Williams College Ephs (6-4) and Babson College Beavers (5-5), the Ephs were solid on both sides of the field as they led the whole game, defeating Babson 16-7.

After three early goals for the Ephs, two from Jake Haase and one from Pearse Glavin, Spencer Goodbar capped off the scoring for the Ephs in the first quarter with a beautiful swim move to set up a bouncer from the slot, beating the Babson goalie high.

Williams would continue firing as everyone got in on the scoring, including long-pole Otto Nicholson who would rip one from deep and fool the net-minder. Pearse Glavin would add his second followed by a strike from Zachary Romrell. Williams would tack on one more late off the stick of Harrison Cross to increase the lead to five heading into the locker room.

The third quarter proved to be much of the same for the Ephs offense as they would register thirteen shots. Tim Saffold would start the scoring six minutes into the half, followed shortly by a goal from faceoff man Noah Dewbrey on the ensuing draw. Finlay Macknight would find himself on the scoresheet on a shot from the alley and Pearse Glavin would finish his hat trick, and the Williams scoring in the quarter, to bring the score to 12-3.

The two teams would finish strong, each team finding the back of the net four times in the final quarter. For the Ephs, Bjorn Davidson and Tucker Catlin would score just 14 seconds apart to open the period. Harrison Cross would bury his second of the game and Will Swindell would add one late in the game to finish the Ephs scoring on the day.

At the end of the day, twelve different Ephs would score, a full team performance which was echoed by Coach McCormack. "I just think it's great in regard to depth, and most importantly, I'm happy that guys were able to contribute". The Ephs will look to continue with the winning ways when they take on Hamilton at home on Wednesday.
