Williamsport, PA – The Williams College Ephs returned to action today at Lycoming College's Lamade Gymnasium for the second and final day of the Budd Whitehill National Duals. The Ephs were matched up with the Messiah Falcons in their first dual of the day with a ticket to the 9
th place match on the line. The Falcons came out firing, picking up wins at all but 149 and 285 where Williams' first years
Caleb Seyfried and
Wyatt Moyer picked up the lone points for the team from win by decisions in a 32-6 defeat.
Following the Messiah dual, the Ephs squared off with the Lycoming Warriors for 11
th place.
Jack Napeloni got the scoring started for Williams at 133 with a dominant 19-4 tech fall victory.
Peter Kane followed a few bouts later at 157 with a 6-1 decision to bring the overall score to 13-8 Lycoming. After a setback at 165, Williams responded with a pair of pins at 174 and 184 courtesy of
Max Hall and Will Smith, handing the Ephs a 20-16 edge heading into the final two bouts. Unfortunately, the Warriors picked up a win by major decision in the penultimate bout and followed it up with a pin in the heavyweight matchup to seal their victory.
The Ephs will return to action next Sunday for the NEWA Duals at Springfield College.
