Williamstown, MA -Â - The Ephmen continued their undefeated season today with wins over both M.I.T. and N.Y.U. In the final home meet of the season, the Ephs beat N.Y.U. 198 to 102 and M.I.T. 171 to 123. This marks the first time since 2015 that Williams has defeated M.I.T. This impressive win was possible thanks to incredible swims and dives from the Ephs and unmatched energy on the pool deck. About the meet, head coach
Steve Kuster said, "Today was a great win. It's the first time we've beaten MIT since 2015. The men swam and dove very well. We were on the right side of a lot of very close races. I think their mindset and determination were exactly where they needed to be for today. It was a fun meet to be a part of." In addition to being an exciting win, this meet was dubbed the "Pride Meet" and celebrated queer athletes and their acceptance on the Williams Swim and Dive team and in sports.
In the first event of the day, the Ephs took second to the top team from M.I.T., finishing the 400 medley relay in an astounding 3:24.45. This team of Nick Whitcomb '23, Jacob Grover '24, Zeb Hart '23, and Oliver Schalet '25, included the top backstroke and breaststroke splits of the event (51.01 and 56.55), both quite impressive.
