MIDDLETOWN, CT – Yesterday, the Williams women's squash team accomplished an exhilarating victory over rival Amherst. The Ephs were feeling confident but a bit tired as they drove to Wesleyan this morning to compete for the Little Threes title. They focused their energies and secured a 7-2 win to continue their undefeated Little Threes Championship streak.
The first round of matches set the Ephs up with a solid 3-0 lead over the Cardinals. #1
Haley Jefferson put the first point on the board, taking her opponent down in a swift 3 games. #5
Mira Kamat completed her match in the same fashion and did not give up a game. #8
Isabel Kelly traded games back and forth with her Cardinal opponent but used smart tactics to clinch the fifth.
Next up, #2
Quan Ng dominated her opponent. She moved her around the court and won in straight games. #6
Roshni Pal locked into the second 5-gamer of the afternoon. She focused on keeping good length and was able to win the first and fourth but fell to her skilled opponent in the fifth. #7
Nora Brant had a slow start to her match, and after dropping game 2 11-9, she regained focus to dominate games 3 and 4.
Before beginning the most contested round of the day, the Ephs led the Cardinals 5 to 1. #3
Amanda Solecki fell into a battle. Although she gave up the second and third games in extra points, Solecki was resilient and closed out a 3-2 victory. #4
Deena Iqbal competed in yet another close match. She traded 11-8 games with opponent but was overpowered in the fifth game. Finally, #9
Giselle Ciriaco, back from a string of injuries, stepped on court for her first college match. She demonstrated grit as she pushed through the team's 5
th 5-gamer and emerged victorious.

Quan Ng commented, "I am really happy about our team's performance this weekend. Given the competition, winning Little Threes this year was no small feat and I'm proud everyone was able to step up their game to win. Very excited to continue the good work as we enter championship season."
The Ephs will head back to campus to begin training for their final matches of the regular season, taking place next weekend in the Simon Squash Center.
